Adoption

Crusty n Shaps

Cats, but dogs too, can suffer from kennel stress when confined for long periods of time. At the end of the day, no matter how wonderful a rescue centre is, it's not as good as a “forever home”. RAWR uses foster homes, where we can so our cats and dogs have the run of the house and a family around them. Still this is not as rewarding for them as a ‘forever family’. The sooner an animal is adopted-for-keeps, the better! RAWR uses an adoption agreement. Our logic is that an animal is not just for ‘now’, it is a long-term relationship and commitment. The adoption agreement you sign, reflects this. Some people object against paying an adoption fee. Again we do have a logical reason for asking. Consider this: IF you couldn’t afford to pay a (small) adoption fee now, how would you pay for the daily food and the regular veterinary care that an animal will need? If you can afford to pay, but feel you are providing a home for this lovely animal, consider that the adoption fee will pay for fostering the next animal in line giving him or her a better chance of finding a home too!
